2019 Shake Ridge Ranch Red Wine Blend - Amador County

On a sequestered and beautiful Amador County ranch, the Shake Ridge Vineyard is the result of decades of experience, serious passion, and good old-fashioned hard work. Once a prominent viticulturist for some of Napa's most renowned vineyards, Ann Kraemer turned to the mountains when it was time to plant her own. Her 46-acre vineyard straddles a ridgeway at 1,700 feet and is home to some of the finest grapes we've ever seen.

The 2019 Shake Ridge Ranch Red, or "Hill of Thunder" as it's affectionately known, blends Zinfandel, Primitivo, and Petite Sirah into an old-world style wine. Dark plum in color, aromas strawberry jam, cherry pie, and baking spice jump from the glass. Flavors of ultra-ripe strawberry, bright pomegranate, and juicy raspberry intermingle with clove, pepper, and soft tannin. Medium-bodied throughout, this wine showcases an elegant style and subtle freshness.
