2019 Frediani Charbono – Calistoga, Napa Valley
You haven’t tasted anything like this before.
If you’re looking to be completely blown away by a wine, look no further than Charbono. There are just 52 acres of this hidden gem varietal planted in Napa Valley, and we’re proud to be amongst the lucky few still producing it. The Frediani Family has been perfecting the art of growing Charbono in Calistoga since the 1930s, so let’s just say they know what they’re doing.
Our beloved Charbono is back with an unmistakable mouthwatering vibrancy on the 2019 vintage. Catch notes of plump blueberry and ripe boysenberry on the nose with subtle sprinkles of vanilla, fruit punch gummies, and sour cherry bubblegum. These aromas are light and fresh out of the glass filling you with heady anticipation for that first sip. Along the palate, flavors of tart raspberry, juicy plum, and plump cherry meet grippy tannins, punchy acidity, and a bit of dust and gravel — reminiscent of the Frediani Vineyard itself.
